I FINISHED A NEW ALBUM!
Hey everybody!
Remember when one of the specific Kickstarter rewards for my last film, Bitter Melon, was that I’d write a song about you? Well, I’m finally done with all 18 and the result is a nerdy, chiptune, dance album called FOLX (You can listen to a sampler, here!)

I’m performing all 18 songs live on May 23rd at 7pm PDT as the Closing Night Party of CAAMFEST (formerly known as the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival) in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (#APAHM).

This whole album was written out of PURE GRATITUDE, not just for the 18 Kickstarter backers who requested a song from me, but also for all of the people in my community who have helped me and helped each other through this very dark time. We’re not quite out of it yet, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I wanted this album to be something that we could all bond over - dancing and singing along to lyrics that seem silly until you sing out loud and hear the lyrics in the context of our shared experience. “We’ll get through this in the end, and when we do, we’ll laugh like characters at the end of an animated TV show.”
